Dr. Kingsley Soh: Championing Healthcare and Development in Mbatu Village as MBACUDA President

Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, hailing from Mbatu Village in Cameroon’s North West Region, has recently been appointed as the Director General of the Yaoundé Gynaeco-Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital. Before this role, he served as the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the North West Region, where he played a pivotal role in initiatives like the implementation of Universal Health Coverage.

Mbatu Village, located in the Bamenda II Subdivision of the Mezam Division, is part of Cameroon’s North West Region. The village is represented online through platforms like mbatu.org, which offers insights into its cultural heritage and community activities.

Dr. Soh’s leadership extends beyond his medical career; he has also been elected as the president of the Mbatu Cultural and Development Association (MBACUDA). This organization is dedicated to the socio-cultural advancement of Mbatu Village, focusing on preserving traditions and spearheading development projects.

Under Dr. Soh’s guidance, MBACUDA has embarked on an ambitious project to construct a hospital in Njimafor, a locality within Mbatu. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare accessibility for residents, reducing the need for long-distance travel to receive medical services. The establishment of this hospital is anticipated to improve health outcomes and stimulate local employment opportunities.

Dr. Soh’s dual roles—as a prominent healthcare administrator and as president of MBACUDA—underscore his commitment to the well-being and development of Mbatu Village. His leadership is expected to bring about significant advancements in both healthcare infrastructure and the preservation of cultural heritage within the community.
